VICKI BAILEY, 55

Vicki (Locke) Bailey, 55, of Mechanicsville, VA., died Sept. 17, 2005, following a 14-year courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 28, 1950, in Augusta and was a 1968 graduate of Carrollton High School. She had resided with her family in Virginia since 1978 where she was a member of the Mechanicsville Trinity Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, David Bailey; a daughter, Deidre (Bryen) Belcher; a son, Chad Bailey, and three grandchildren, all of Mechanicsville, VA.

Also surviving are her mother, Evelyn Locke; two brothers, Dr. Darrell (Patty) Locke and Rick (Diana) Locke, and an aunt, Elaine (Tom) White, all of Carrollton, and extended family members, Jerry and Sue Campbell of Green Cove Springs, FL.

She was preceded in death by her father, Denton Locke, and her grandparents, Joe and Sylvia Locke and Charlie and Rhoda Leatherberry.

Her love for life and her courage and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Sept. 21 at the Trinity Christian Church in Mechanicsville.

A memorial service will be held locally at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Carrollton Church of Christ (Christian Disciples) where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. with local family members present. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carr oll County Hospice of the American Cancer Society.
